Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I swear to God my husband prefers me depressed, as he is a bit of a control freak. When I am depressed he is in charge on everything and I don't really spend any money. Money is very important to him.
I went hypo-manic when I moved out of depression about 6 weeks ago. I spent too much money. Now instead of giving me the silent treatment he is just in a bad mood and is impossible to carry on a coversation with.
The truth is I am somewhat scared of him. I walk around on pins and needles now. He is my greatest supporter when I am depressed but that seems to fade as I get somewhat better. He understands BP depression but thinks the only other state of mind is feeling perfectly normal.

This time is different. We are Not "over". But the emotional upheaval where reality meets bipolar meets borderline meets Normal issues is Overwhelming.
When I get to the other side, I know I will be a different person, for better or worse.
Buckle up Dorothy because Kansas is going bye-bye!!!!
As much as I've been put through sheer and utter extreme hell at times with relationships and the after-effects, I've also developed considerably as a person, growing immensely in all areas - and even if another relationship or two were to put me in hospital again, I'd do it just the same the next time round!
I say go for the white-knuckle ride if you can hold on or strap yourself in. Life if anything is to enjoy the ride, no matter what that may be.
"even if another relationship or two were to put me in hospital again, I'd do it just the same the next time round"
- and I know what you mean. :)
But in the olden days when there were deaths in the family, I would maybe start cleaning the house from top to bottom. But I think non bp-ers do that also.
that is my #1 trigger........loss of love.......
