This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

It's just difficult to actively catch yourself doing it and make a proactive attempt not to.
I'm trying to take advantage of my ADD and just quickly shift my focus elsewhere before it gets any real chance to form and gain footing to run amok in my brain, lol.
I think of it as killing time while avoiding my triggers.
Step 1: Identify triggers
Step 2: Avoid triggers
Step 3: While avoiding triggers...get out in the yard and pull some weeds. Watch a movie. Do some yoga. Whittle some wood.

We can't fix something we are unaware of : )
An example might be......a project for work that I know will take more than the time aloted. I have to break it down into pods I can accomplish without over stressing myself. This might mean approaching the person requesting it and explain that I can do a better more thorough job if I have a bit more time. They usually understand. I try not to assume what someone will or will not understand and avoid undue pressure on myself.
