I take Seroquel XR 150mgs once a day. I have no shakes. But I forget things a lot. Like a word will be on the tip of my tongue and I can't remember it. I also forgot to do laundry twice this week. Does that ever happen to you?

Yes, I have talked to my pdoc. From everything I have learned about these medications, It's a case of choosing your side effects.

As there is no way of testing which ones will be perfect, the empirical approach is the only way to go.

I figured I would prefer to have the mild tremor and tics rather than weight gain.

I also forget things a lot. I find its best for me to have pen and paper at hand so i can jot down anything that pops into my mind.

OMG!!! I just found your post. That is exactly what happens to me.
Also, if I'm holding something, my hand will jerk.

i know its a side effect and all but it feels good when you find somebody who is going thru the same thing.

Have you had any weight gain at all? How long have you been on it and what strength, if you don't mind me asking.

Hi Sammy Jane, I've been on 150mgs once a day since End March 2010. I have to make sure I'm in bed within 45mins of taking it otherwise I'm stumbling my way around. I have only started putting on weight in the couple of months. Early on i was vomiting a lot because of the stress I was under at the time of my Diagnosis. Stress really plays havoc with my stomach.

But all of a sudden I have this barrel of an abdomen...Its depressing in itself.

When I was manic I thought I was just gorgeous but now I realize that I was carrying about 10 kgs extra anyway.

I'm also on 1000mgs Epilim and today I'm adding 25mgs Lamictal twice a day .

antipsychotic medications can and do cause this condition. I would rediscuss this with your doctor as these symptoms can become life long symptoms.
