I wish there WAS an old me to remember that didnt involve mental illness or psychological problem of some sort. I have no frame of reference.

I miss the old me sometimes too.

I'm sorry that it is that way for you. Myself..............I wish I had never been my former self. Then, I wouldn't miss her so much. I wouldn't know what I was missing.

You know what girl, many of us don't know who are former selves are. I have no idea of a former self, since we were so young when we were touched my mental illness, directly or indirectly. All I know is who I am in this moment, and who I would like to become, but along the way I will change and grow, and experience the ups and downs of this illness and probably many others along the way. Today, all I know is that I am happy to be alive sitting here and talking to you guys. If I didn't have you guys, I would essentially have no support system and would probably be pushing daisies by now.

So, even though I carry this monkey on my back, I am still here and still beeping!!!

I am scarred!! Ruined goods.............spoiled meat. I can never be good again.

I think that many of us feel like "scarred goods" sometimes, but we can't let that destructive thinking prevail. If we do, it will kick our ass into the dirt so much that we will just give up.

The Chelle I know is far from a quitter, and I think many here would agree.

I ain't no quitter. I am just wallering in the mud right now. It is nice and cool. Tastes like chocolate pudding. ;)
