so I've been suffering from migraines very rarely for a while but it seems to be getting worse lately. I know Topamax is for migraines but I've also heard that it has been used to treat Bipolar successfully. I'm on Neurontin 900 and I feel like it does help but when I came off one of my pills I had a mini breakdown and starved myself for a week. Long story short, does anyone take both Topamax and Neurontin? or one or the other? how are the side effects. The Neurontin helps, like I said..but I feel like I could def feel better than I am now. Plus the migraines.

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo

I do take Neurontin and I find it helps a lot with anxiety.. It takes a long time to withdraw from though and needs to be done very slowly....xo
Neurontin I couldn't tolerate , one dose was nearly fatal for me ...horrid side effects of almost seizure like tremors.
Topamax made me feel ok, but I got STUPID ! I forgot how to tell time, tie my shoes, shift my car..it was awful.
There are many other mood stabilizers out there.
Currently I take Depakote, at 1,000 mg daily.
Seems to do the job for me with some side effects , of course.
But I have been stable for 5 years on Depakote
I was on it and was migraine free for 5 years but was initially on it to help stave off weight gain from my other meds.
The only side effect I had was that dopey feeling and a little forgetful.
I miss it for my migraines... Know nothing about Neurontin.
It made me spacey.
That is the only reason I stayed on it. 200 mg and I managed ok on it.
