Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
doorknob
OK how many of you out there start these huge projects with big dreams of this or that only to get bored mid way and start something else for a while?
Well that's me! I have a million projects started that I never finished. I have plans to finish them I just get around to actually finishing it!
I do come back and work on some of them sporadically but they are such a big project that it's very rare I get anything completed in time to be useful.
That plus respondsibilies (like cleaning, paying bills and doctors appointments ext... ) take up a lot of time and effort
and then I also have times where I'm to ill to do much more than stare like a zombie or sleep. I wish I could complete some of these projects because if I do they will turn out pretty cool! And show off how talented I actually am!
Some times I feel like if I hadn't gotten so ill I could have done a lot of things and contributed to this world
While some of these hobbies are obscure I'm sure many of you will have never heard of such things, well here's a list of them.
ART
I draw comics (anime)
I paint
Design PA dutch patterns (now this I actually get completed as it doesn't take long)
3D editor
Graphic editor (which I suck at)
Movie making using sims2 (I've been trying to get this movie made forever but because I"m making every thing myself it's taking way too long! I have to make the props, characters and costumes. I may even eventually have to make animations because they game just doesn't do every thing I need it to.) And making some of those things are very time consuming plus I need so many of them!)
Also I write stories which also never get finished.
I also have to use a movie editor which I have used before to edit this brilliant sims 2 movie if I every get it finished.
MUSIC
I'm taking up violin self taught. I know that sounds insane but I can read and I already have some background in music.
Composing music using a program. (this is also for my big dreams of a sims2 movie since I can't just steal other peoples music. I don't want the royalty problems. Hey if I ever finish it, it will be going up on youtube.)
Learning singing lessons so I can teach my daughter. also self taught using the internet and books.
Miscellaneous.
I fix peoples computers and electronic problems.
Studying ...
spanish
japanese
electronic refreshers to keep me fresh in case I ever decide to finish my degree
And reading about anything else that I fancy
I have plans to learn short hand I"m too lazy to write stuff out when talking over the phone.
And reading lots and lots of manga
I also put together puzzles
read dime store novels
Read actually enlightening books
Yeah and I"m sure there's even more I could add to the list that I forgot about.
But between being to ill and the mundane responsibilities that come with parenting and adult hood I don't have much time for all these hobbies.
But I can't bare to part with any of them!
Any one else have this problem?
I'd love to hear about what other people do for hobbies. I guess watching tv can be a hobby.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Here are some things I (should be doing) do:
-book art/ making books/ writing poetry
-writing short fiction
-floundering attempt to write a screenplay
-doing sound art
-singing
-digital photography and very simple video
-video poems
-petting my pet rabbits.
You are truly talented!!
I used to start projects and not finish them and that really bugged me as i invested serious time but got no ultimate reward or end product.
So with help from my meds espically lithium and a strict daily schedule i was able to break the tasks down in to little ones... that way you accomplish things and dont feel like its an overall failure.
Dunno if this would help you.......just a thought :)
but the sims2 movie is probably the biggest project. I really want to finish it but people under estimate the amount of work that goes into making one of those. At least if you are trying to make a good one.
It's a lot for one person. I do get back to it now and then but it's just so much work!
The other hobbies aren't as bad they are more just hobbies that are not too important if they every get finished or not.
But I just bought a violin and I can't wait to start practicing!
Well I am doing better this year than last
Last year I was procrastinating horrible on every thing
Always losing my welfare and my housing in jeopardy.
Now I"m on it but I have less time to spend on hobbies that's a good thing
