My sister didn't speak to me when I left and I didn't speak to her either.I wasn't the only one who went off on her.The excuse she gave was so unbelieveable.I didn't believe a word she said.

Sometimes family can do some of the most unsensitive of things. Would they do that to their best friend?? I dunno, sometimes they are a blessing but also can be a pain in the @$$!!! Sorry you had to go thru that today!! Especially on XMAS that sucks!!

Thats; the pits, people shouldn't promise something to you then take it away. This happened to us a few years back. We had been waiting for months to get a computer and my MIL promised her old one to us, as luck would have it my SIL gave it away to someone else. It was a real blow for us, because my husband needed the new computer for his recording business. I ended up borrowing from my 401 K to buy a new computer.

I would have been pissed too.

My daughter is 15 years old.I'll try to save the money up myself and buy her a computer for christmas.

OPEN OFFICE is FREE and you Down Load it from the internet!!!! Will work with Microsoft Office Files!!!

And if you need help I used to be a full time computer admin and my husband still is!!!

If I had a spare system i would send you one. If I get one I will let the boards know. Sometimes I am given them to find homes with kids who don't have the $$ for one.

You could also check any places that repair computers. Sometimes folks bring them in and then don't have the money to pay for the repairs. The shop might sell you the computer at a good price. Plus you would know for sure if it works and what all it's loaded with. Wouldn't hurt to look into.

I can forgive and forget if you lie and screw me. But I can't if you lie and hurt my wife or son.

I am sure your daughter was very disappointed. I am sorry that happened. It is a good teaching moment for you to take advantage of with your own daughter. You can explain that promises are very important and that to make them and break them can be very hurtful. I dont have enough facts to actually comment on your sister. Is it possible she had outside pressure to give the computer to her son rather than your daughter as promised? Is it possible she wasnt able to afford a computer for both? I know right now the hurt is fresh for you, but try not to allow a material thing to destroy your relationship with your sister. I wish mine was still alive today and I would do anything to still have her here. Family relationships are very important. Maybe when things "cool off" you can sit down and discuss the importance of a broken promise with your sister calmly. It could be a great way to teach her some things too. I hope your daughter gets over her disappointment. You can help her with forgiveness. Forgiveness quells the pain and brings peace to the heart. Hugs
