I don't immediately shake hands with people and say Hi, I'm bipolar, or anything like that. I've told close friends/family so they can have a clue why I disappear sometimes. And I have informed my immediate supervisor so she understands why sometimes...I just gotta "go"

I wait until I have a close enough relationship with them to determine if they are a safe enough person to disclose that information to or not. Not everyone needs to know. I really only tell my close friends.

I am close with her, and trust her, so maybe that's why I told her. I suppose I wouldn't tell anyone anything at work immediately. I didn't say anything until she had actually witnessed me having a complete breakdown, then I told her and if I said "I just gotta go", she knew I was getting to that point.

I don't tell anybody now. People have preconceived ideas and they're generally wrong. I feel I don't owe anybody an explanation about why I am me.

I tell friends and boyfriends almost straight away.
I never used to.
I used to be somebody I wasn't.
Now, I'm pretty much completely open about it, if they can deal with it, great, if they can't, they wouldn't have been a good friend anyway.
