Tired of being Misunderstood

I am tired of being misunderstood. People think that because you are mental that somehow, your symptoms translate over your entire life and somehow your misbehaviors translate to them, when they don't.

After all of the sublimating and the hard work in keeping on the straight and narrow, I can't seem to escape being misunderstood.

It is very irritating.

I'm sorry you're struggling sweetie... I think that we need boundaries for sure with some people... There are those who want to use illness against people...
I used to live with a friend who did that....I left....It was that simple...I had to for my own peace of mind

Hugs to you I know where you are coming from. Some people like my fam even try to understand but cant. At least we have each other. We understand.

It can be discouraging but like tommy says only allow special people into your personal circle and try to ignore the rest; soon mental illness will be referred to correctly as Brain diseases.

Brain Diseases sounds a lot more apropos than Bipolar DISORDER. This is not a disorder, it can't be fixed.
Not that I like the thought of Disease either, but at least it sounds as serious as it really is.

just like diabetes is a disease of the pancreas and the inability to make the correct amount of insulin, BP is of the brain and a problem with the firing of nerve cells (synapses), and chemical secretions- seratonin, epinephrine, etc.
