Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

When I went to renew my lease for my apartment the landlord decided not to renew it due to the amount of complaints they have had in recent times. They believe I am not suited to "high density" living, in fact I may be, but others around me do not think so. They have given 2 months to find another place, and if I didn't sign the lease they would have kicked me out within 10 days, so I signed, agreeing that I would move out within 2 months.
When there is an objective, I never muck about, I was on the case of finding somewhere else to live straight away. I checked out my options with my social supports and the like, but they couldn't see the emergency I was in. Once I decide on something I needed to act on it, and finding a new place was on the agenda. I looked up a few advertising spots on the net for share accommodation, knowing this was my best bet to find cheap place and quick.
When I feel emergency, the survival instinct kicks in, I mean I have been in it many times before, but this time I had experience to draw from. To cut a long story short, after sifting through a few advertisements for share accommodation I found a place that was convenient for someone without a car and was close to a shopping centre and other amenities. This place just happened to be a mile away from where my ex lived, even though it sounds stalkish (not sure if I will visit her or not) I always liked there area she lived in and got used to the area and know my way about.
I contacted the manager of the property and had organised a meeting the next day to view the property. These places don't last long and I knew I had to act, but in the back of my mind I knew I had another 2 months up my sleeve and I hadn't really committed to going. As it happens I got a good night sleep and woke up early and kept my appointment. After viewing my room in this house that sleeps 6 other people I found myself signing the lease that day. The property is well managed and my own room is fully furnished, decked out with a TV, WIFI and A/C, I knew I wouldn't find a more suitable place like this any time soon, so I handed over the bond and said I would move in the following week.
So where does that leave me? I know it won't take long (if any time at all) for my old place to be leased so I'm not to worried about being charged rent at 2 places. I am worried about losing my bond that I paid for the 1 bedroom apartment that I had been living in for the past 2 and a half years due to a hole in the wall that happened when I fell over a couple of months ago when I overdosed. However, at the end of the day, your talking about me losing my bond which I'm not going to leave any sleep over, given that I have found a new place, where I feel comfortable.
So I made the decision to move, and this all happened on the Australia Day long weekend. I didn't need any of my furnishings at my new share place, so I had to sell all my furnishings or move them. The social support system I have in place let me down which meant I would have to turn to family for support, which I really didn't want to do, so I decided to advertise for my stuff to be sold dirt cheap to the first person that could move my stuff out within a couple of days. As I advertised this my parents co-coincidently had visited me with-in hours of me posting the advertisement. When my parents arrived I got a phone call about someone wanting to buy. When they came round my father was telling them that he was going to pick the stuff up himself. I thanked the people that came round and said that my father has decided to help me, so I won't be selling my furnishings now. I deleted the advertisement and put it in my fathers hands to move my stuff.
Dad got a hold of both my brothers to help me move, Dad has a trailer and one of my brothers has a Ute so when they all agreed to help me move I was very pleased. We had our problems, but generally the move went according to plan. My stuff is all now stored at my parents place and if I move again it will be there for me to collect, but right now, I feel free for the fact I can go anywhere if need be, not burdened by possessions, yet still living a life of comfort.
