Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Having said that, a big part of controlling spending habits, comes from the patient developing coping skills that work for them and putting them into place, such as:
Setting a Budget for yourself, limiting the amount of money used for "enjoyment/shopping."
Limit online shopping, and never store credit card information on shopping sites so it just takes a couple buttons to spend money.
When you've found yourself having bought things that you didn't need or couldn't afford, you don't reward yourself by keeping them, you take them back.
Get rid of multiple Credit Cards, the less number of ways you have to spend, the less you'll spend.
Putting practices like these into place, allows you to train your brain and alter your behavior so your not randomly wasting money.
While looking at your Pinterest Board you’ll probably see that a lot of the items you don’t even really want now so delete them from the board and then decide what you really want to spend your money on with what’s left on the board. You can also make a new Board for next months shopping and move some items over to next months board. I do that and it feels like shopping without the spending $ and accumulating things.
You might see if there's any kind of "Trade Bulletin Board or Site" in your area for people who do various crafts and trade materials. Sometimes Craigslist has postings for that type of thing. If you have a bunch of excess of one thing and might want to trade for something someone else has. You could even put up a Craigslist ad for your town. Its a way to get new supplies without spending money.
Just in case your interested.
