Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Spencer here again. I tend to be observed but in a more depressive way which has been a trigger before due to the lack of sleep. But that is not what I wanted to post. Do you think your TDoc is human or something that I should judge, and be judged, as the gold standard of information? I have labored under the notice that she had some insight and that I should rely upon what she is saying. But she has given me a diagnosis of GAD instead of Bipolar. I think the treatment would be different. When I tried to die at my hand, she still said GAD. Or maybe I am refusing to listen to what she is saying and rejecting her advice because it is negative towards me. She has busted my confidence four times in 15 months by telling my employer about me in detail and several others. Some not connected with the medical profession. This is why I was slow to open up and still have not fully. I wish that I could trust her, but she always seemed false and judgemental.
The last session with her was this week; she said that I was lying about my psychoanalyst testing of two weeks ago. She stated that it was quite the performance and then moved on. That was the first thing she said in the session. The rest was just her unloading every little statement she wanted to say. Very passive aggressive and not helpful for me. On the psych-testing, I gave full and truthful answers to every.
I wonder if anyone can follow this train of thought. I get the feedback from the Testing next week. I tried to call the doc to see if that was his impression or was it just the TDoc clawing at me again.
I am so tired of military medicine. I think that I have not gotten good care yet.

I would ask your psych what he/she believes your diagnosis to be.... A lot of people now don't believe in 'labels'
I actually like a firm diagnosis however if you aren't sure about the diagnosis symptoms can still be treated
If you're unhappy with this therapist I would ask for a referral to someone else.... Therapists are people to and not everyone will mesh ….
I wouldn't want to bare my soul to someone I wasn't comfortable with..... Big hug....xo
The military side is very different. I was required by military law to attend my sessions. I sought help but after it was discovered the levels of my depression/anxiety/PTSD/bipolar it was required. Often many personnel is forced to take therapy. When I was the hospital, I was required by military law to participate and not to escape. But... good for me, I am done as of this week with only one more appt (psychoanalysts? - the testing of MMPI-2 (personality test of 375 questions), intelligence testing, memory, cognition, and dexterity.
So new TDoc and PDoc in my future. Not sure how, will need to figure that out, but my June I should have some new help. This feels good.
Thanks to everyone for putting up with me.
I'm not sure whats up with your Tdoc, I don't know if she just couldn't cut it in Med School and had to stop at her Ph.D and is not happy about it....but she's not the one who gives you a Diagnosis. Your Pdoc gives you your Diagnosis, he provides your medication then he recommends a Therapist so that you can go and talk and work on the "day to day" difficulty and past issues. Your Therapist helps you learn coping skills and different types of Therapy to make life manageable with your Mental Illness. That's his/her job.
I hope that you can let this "Tdoc" go and find one that knows how to do their job when you move.
But either way... I am done with both. I liked the PDoc (called him the Walrus). I can't wait to find someone that I can choose. That is the first time that I get to choose a doc (any) in my life. I am delighted with this. Something that I have not said in a very long time.

I sincerely hope you find both a Pdoc and Tdoc that you can build a trusting relationship with and that care for your actual welfare, I truly do.
Take care,
Kat
