Maybe a little more more a non bipolar person but truth be told, I do not put a lot of faith in stats or anything like that because its known that people will more likely say something about if it was a negative experience than a positive.

depends on the person. i consider myself an extremely hard person to be married to but my poor husband has been there for me for 7 years. i dont know where i would be without him. it can be hard, just ask him! but the right person is out there and you will find them.

I can understand certain aspects of bipolar and mental illness in general sometimes being unusually harder to deal with but more often than non, if the person is looking after and being looked after for it, a relationship can be just as fulfilling and wonderful as any other (the heart wants what it wants when it all comes down to).

exactly, 1 bad thing erases 10 good things. We remember the bad stuff more than the good stuff. It was a phrase i got when i was in the millitaty and doing evaluations. Screwing up 1 time would erase, in your mind, 10 good things that you or someone else did.

Applied to here, 1 bad bp date/relationship will erase or nullify 10 good ones out there. So it seems worse than what it realy is.

Ok thanks. Its like the trouble Im having with my neices little girl. She adored me but one day I lost it and smashed a dinner plate to the table and broke it to pieces. I couldnt help it. There were five kids ramming all day long and I was trying to eat peacefully. I quickly regretted it and cleaned and vacuumed up the mess like I was supposed to do but now she avoids me. Its gonna take a long time to fix that. She is too young to try to explain that Im all better now and that wont happen anymore so Im just going to have to live without her company for awhile.

I get that, my kids see a different mommy sometimes from moment to moment, but we are all human and when I make mistakes I apologize and remind my kids that I am not perfect and I too make mistakes, I think this only helps them realize that is ok for them to make mistakes too
