If it is....I did try that before Lithium but made me crook in the stomach...seedy like a constant hangover and spaced out.

When you say yr kicking Ass? You mean your doing well on it? If you are.....terrific or u chic...what doesn't work for one ....can be great for another!!

It's kicking my a$$ as in I feel like I've been beat up. I'm spacey, feel hungover. I have horrible tics, twitches and tremors. A lot of trouble sleeping. Not getting to sleep, but staying asleep.

I'm not sure whether to contact my pdoc or wait until I'm on the dosage he Rx'd.

I feel for you....when all your trying to do is gerrt well and you end up feeling worse than well!
I personally wold seek the docs opinion...i don't think the twitching is a good sign...i mean I still get minor shakes with Lith but some days are better than others....but if its disturbing your everyday livin I don't think the drug then us being useful.And being space out like your not connecting with the world is the worst..... not to mention quezy throw up feelings. Just damn yuk. I don't think that sort of thing will subside. I do get te quezy stomach on Lith but only if I take it during the day...got around it by taking it at night bf bed...seems to sleep off that side effect.

Go see Doc love. I think after 2 weeks you'd have settled in and things would have mellowed if it was going to change....and especially if your feelijn like this now....and you have to still up the dosage! Heck.

Thanks Alli and Boxy...I'm going to get the on-call pdoc hopefully...maybe I need my levels checked. I've got a huge lump on the back of my head too...feels like I've been bludgeoned...and I haven't had any trauma there. I dunno. I'll call the on-call pdoc and see what they say.

hiya, i know what you mean about being spaced out etc but then i'm not good at taking meds so when i take them, my body is getting used to them all over again.

i take 200mg in the morning then again at night, 400mg in total.

i've not noticed any ticks or tremors, but i already twitch some due to living with cerebral Palsy, so perhaps any other side effects are hiding cause of another pre existing condition..

I didn't have them so bad at that dosage...I've had my tegretol upped to 200mg in the am, and 400mg in the pm.

I'm supposed to up it again on tuesday to 400mg in the am, and 400mg in the pm. Not looking foward to it. I hurt all over, and I have a big lump on the back of my head as of today....did I mention this already? My memory is completely shot.

I just wish the pdoc would get a move on. I've been waiting over an hour for an emergency phone call return from him.

how long have you been on tegretol?
i guess what i really mean to ask is could this be withdrawal from whatever you were on before?

Could be that meds you are on are clashing?
i think i got told last year that i could have an anti biotic or pain med because it would clash with the tegretol

I hadn't taken any mood stabilizer in about 7 months. I do take paxil and xanax and have a past of chronic anemia...the pdoc knows all this.

I'm concerned that the lump on my head could be a lymph node...in such a case I'm supposed to seek medical attention ASAP. But I haven't spoken to the pdoc, so I haven't a clue. I'm truly debating just going to the ER anyway, b/c I don't like to mess around w/ psych meds. I'm too sensitive to meds.

Hmmm...it might be a bad mix of meds. But the pdoc should have said something. I've been researching all of this...blood levels and when to seek medical attention. I think that I should be, but I'm a little phobic, and sometimes get too paranoid and seek the medical attention when I don't actually need it.

This lump on my head is getting bigger and more painful as time goes on though.

I had two different experiences with it. The first time I took it so I wouldn't scratch a hole in my arm, it was great. The second time I took it with my other meds and it was hell.

I found that if I ate my stomach ache would lessen or go away, so I was constantly eating. Everywhere I went I wanted to puke. It was hell. After three months of this bs I was taken off of it.

I've got the kids dressed and ready to head to the ER to get a lab draw. And to check out this lump on my head. The pdoc is obviously not in any rush to call back his emergencies. I'll let you know how it goes...probably nothing, but I'm not taking any chances.

Just an update...I went to the ER, got my labs drawn...no results til tomorrow, but I finally was contacted by the on call pdoc (after like 6 hours)...and I had to call again to get a call.

But anyway, I'm having an allergic reaction to the tegretol...discontinuing immediately. Thanks for all of the help and support from everyone!

I've been on it for over a year now. Most side affects go away with time but the big thing I have with it is the withdrawl when I haven't taken it for a few days. I get the shakes super bad. But it has worked great for me.

While I was on it I was just sleepy at the beginning nothing more really, oh and delayed orgasm
