This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

So I was in the hospital the other week and my ad was quadrupled. I met a guy on the psych floor and we are both out now. I had sex with him on Saturday. Suddenly I want to get my tongue pierced and I am making plans for my paycheck I don’t even had. Also I smoked pot three times last week. I am being somewhat a reckless but I am still sleeping fine so I don’t think it mania. I’m afraid to tell my pdoc and tdoc. I’m afraid that my recent behavior is mania because I am having so much fun but if it is mania then I know the depression is coming and I’m still having suicidal thoughts at night so I’m scared but carefree at the same time

The weeks seem to fly by!Happy Saturday to everyoneI hope that the weekend brings some chill time and barbecuesDoes it take others what seems like forever to add a comment on the boards?I'm okay everywhere else except boards..Everywhere else adds normally but it's annoyingly slow!Have a great Saturday and do something nice for you!!Big hug...xo

The Hospital I go to when In-patient doesn't allow patients exchanging contact information while on the BiPolar/Suicide Ward. They don't want us buddying up on the outside as you tend to influence the other negatively....I actually never keep track of anyone I meet when in-patient unless I see them in the hospital again...its just never something I've wanted to do and never met anyone that I thought would affect my life positively when out of the hospital.
You need to think about that when your in the hospital....
Everyone gave you great advice here. We are collectively concerned for you it sounds! Half the battle of managing BP is finding the right doctors for YOU. If you were understanding the pdoc correctly and he acted like it was "funny" or entertaining that your mania was letting you have some fun and he did NOT show concern for your well being then find someone new. Seriously. I've met a few psych docs I didn't like, and unfortunately the hospital situations is where I was connected with them.
I don't always think those hospitals are the best place for us. In a dire emergency where we need full time care to get our meds straight, YES. But I don't think going inpatient over and over is always the best solution. I'm glad you feel you connected to a friend there but be very careful! I had a situation one time where a fellow patient remembered where I said I worked and called the workplace receptionist and the receptionist gave him my information somehow! It's a tough lesson to learn but an important one to learn to take care of ourselves because there isn't always someone around to protect us from difficult situations!
Be careful, be smart (like street smart) and know that there are great people to connect with managing this illness who are appropriate and will help turn things around. ((((Hugs))))
