What was the problem with the Klonopin exactly. I find it works pretty well with me. It really knocks me on my ass!

I am on Ativan and it works great right after you take it, but it is a lot short acting than Klonopin, so I take the Ativan more often if needed. I do sometimes take 2 MG if I am really anxious..

My pdoc tells me klonopin stays in your system longer, something like 12 hours. You can call and switch back maybe?

Ativan messed me up. I was doing things that were not okay but my mind was 'okay' with everything. Bad times, but some really funny memories. Good luck.

ask him to put you on valium. 10mg pills, the beautiful blue ones!

something similar to klonopine can be xanax xr, its the longer lasting one. it does not work immediately so i take some short acting xanax with it. good luck

As it states in Surviving Manic Depression, Klonapin and Ativan are the two most prescribed Benzos to Bi-Polar. Both work well on me, a.k.a. when I'm in the hospital it helps change my mind and divert it from my anxiety.

The problem I had with Klonopin was that I felt it had a bad effect on my memory. Does Ativan seem to be better in that regard?

i am on ativan 1mg 4xday, with a script for 2mg 4xday if i am having an especially hard day. problem is, 2mg puts me to sleep. i like ativan, works well for me.

Diazapam (valium) twice a day does wonders for me and it lasts 3x longer than Klonopin. It just takes the edge off of everything

I take kolonopin but i use to take zanax which worked quick but didn't last longer than klonopin. I am thinking about switching to valuiem since it lasts longer out of the 2.

Caribou, any of the benzo's will interfere with the consolidation of memories meaning you're going to have a hard time making new memories.

I'm on 2.5mg of Ativan a day. I usually manage to make it till the afternoon before I take it but if I have a panic attack I find I have to boost the dosage just to feel it's effects. I worry too much but I find myself concerned about the addictive issues surrounding benzo's and I'm really scared that when I move my new pdoc will want to change things around and I'm going to go through benzo withdrawal.

I tried valium but I found I could only feel it's effects for the first hour or so. I tried clonazepam but it didn't kick in fast enough and I found it made me really sluggish. Xanax didn't last long enough. I tried Xaxan XR but that was too much and I couldn't get anything done but I didn't really care. Ativan (aka Lorazepam) seems to be a good balance between effect and longevity for me.

I think I'm going to ask for Ativan when I see my doctor on Thursday. True, Klonopin was hard on my memory, but now that I'm not on an anxiety med I can barely leave the house!
