Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Another quirky note about vitamin D - doctors will readily test your levels and you can scientifically - FACTUALLY - know if you are deficient.
Males low in vitamin D tend to be low in testosterone and tired a lot.
I live in a rain forest so doctors routinely test for vitamin D deficiency and usually people are low - a friends kid tested at 0.
We have a supplement group here at DS

Pop in and say hello :-)
I'm studying B vitamins right now and think that B3 and B12 (methyl) might be crucial to those with bipolar, but I can't say anything for certain yet. A lot of people evincing "cures" do so with B3 and B12 -- so thought I would give supplementing those a try, but within safe limits. No megadosing.
I wrote a review today of 5-HTP at

More of a rescue med to be treated very carefully.
L-Glutamine. It's the amino acid that helps line the intestine. It's cheap and easy and works well for my IBS. I use a product that works faster called Intestinew. It relieved my IBS symptoms soon after I digested it and within a few days I was okay. Nothing short of a miracle.
If I over due the fructose my IBS comes right back so I keep Intestinew on hand. Thought I might share encase there are other IBS sufferers out there - albeit a lot of different causes for IBS and I'm not sure Intestinew works for anything other than fructose intolerance.
Cheers :D
