Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
I used the words nearly superhuman in a message to my love. It was meant to describe how functioning on a day to day basis can seem that way. I supported a family with a mental illness diagnosed. There were challenges when I needed hospitalization. But the constant was always to go back and work. Keep going under a guise of what some would call normal. 3 or 4 twelve hour day shifts. Were followed by one or two days off. Then it would be twelve hour nights. Year in and year out with no real sleep wake cycle. And the decision one makes that at best only affects the fate of machinery or infrastructure. At worst they affect human safety. Folks any of you that functioned or are still functioning. Any of you that choose life over a far worse alternative. You're survivors of things that frighten others to the point of not wanting to imagine themselves in our situations. All of us with mental illness are winning and living under conditions others fear to their core. So superhuman seems to be somewhat accurate. I'm proud of my resilience. I hope you can be proud of yours as well.

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...

Hey All...I hope that you have a lovely, peaceful beginning of your weekI have a bunch of chores that need doing but may put them off til tomorrow and just hang out with my landlord/roomie todayWhat about you?...Anything special going on?Have a great day and take good care of you!!..Xo
Personally, I had bp1 dx and bp2 dx, I did manager to work for a life time and now do not work. I "never" would have had the ability to work the hours which you do in your life.
Then there are others who try to work, and are unable to sustain a job for long periods of time.
Personally, my belief is that anytime anyone gets up out of bed is an act of ''resilience", they are not giving into the desire to close off their lives...they too have Courage, despite the symptoms in body or brain to try again one more day.
