suicide Deception

Last week I made a new friend on DS who had lost friend here to suicide (Supposedly). As it turns out, the one was not dead but taken away and the who reported her dead caused it.

So it lead me to ponder this question...

Has anyone allegedly killed themselves on here while you were a member and if so, is it possible they used it as a way to gain attention while posing under a new user?

To deliberately lie about your mood would seem to me to be counterproductive and wasteful. This is the world we live in though. People do counterproductive and wasteful things all the time.

So this makes me want to ask a question. I know I have difficulties empathizing with people unless I have experienced the same thing. For example, I flat out cannot understand people who beat up on helpless people. Why do they do it? Surely it makes sense to them or they wouldn't be doing it. So ... if someone lies about their mood or fakes suicide, it must make sense to them. It doesn't make sense to me, but there you go.

As I recall when a person is manic sometime they may expierence grandiose feelings and show a lack of concern for other people,so yes lack of empathy can be a symptom of mania.
