I have always wondered what a reaction to my death was. But I wouldn't go as far as to do that.

I think some one probably has in the past. But I wouln't say it was a lot of them.

I do suppose it's possible.

Yes, i could see someone doing that, but we all come here for different reasons. Help, support, therapy, attention. I noticed that when I post bad journals(not intentionally)I recieve more support from others, which is good. I cant do this BP alone.

To gauge it, change your face to horrible, you will get more hugs and messages.

I don't do this to get attention, I only do it just to be honest on what my mood is.

I can see that dcrockz, With me I don't change it to horrible unless it about over for me. As far as people faking, it is indeed for getting attention, but I'm of the mind that that is what we need sometimes, even though the methods might not be agreeable.

Sorry, that goes into the 'dishonesty' category for me. I have very little tolerance for lies, no matter what the situation.
Also I don't know for sure of one single person who supposedly killed themselves here...do you?

you know... people who tell others that they are going to kill themselves actually are not looking for attention, more over help, and if that means people paying attention in the interm, fine. I honestly think if someone were to kill themselves they for sure wouldnt tell everyone. That would be pointless. Because if you feel you DO have someone to talk to, to tell them that your going to kill yourself then truely, you never were in the first place. Crisis intervention tought me that alot of people threaten to kill themselves only because thats how they feel. Not what they actually think. Its like a decription of how they feel inside. For example... when I am reeeally upset with the BF.... I cant find anything else to say but I HATE YOU. I dont mean that I hate him, more over that I am so overwhelmed that your very distastful at the moment. We have an understanding... he knows I dont mean whay I say whne I am angry. ANYWHO... its for HELP (I THINK) not attention. THING THAT GETS ME.... is when people ask for advise and help and suggestions... but only reply with more morbid thoughts and ideas. I knwo that bad feelings dont just go away.... but why get on the computer to tell someone about it? Go for a walk. Look at the sky... primp in the mirror and tell yourself your worthy of life. So on and so on.... good thread tho.

I am not sure I am qualified to dismiss anyone's comment that they want to commit suicide. I am not sure even my doctor is qualified to just dismiss someone when they say they are going to kill themsleves. And as far as moaning on the computer. This site is Daily Strength and is defined as a support group. Part of it means that when we are sad or desperate we CAN come here for support. So telling a member to just suck it up and go for a walk instead of posting their sadness here shows a gross misunderstanding of the purpose of this board.

Who said suck it up... its what I do man! Especially when I start havin a panic attack. I feel like the walls are closing in and I cant breath. I'm just speakin from experience... maybe you misinterpreted what I was saying. Cool Cool. But your right about dismissing someones cry for help. And yes this is DS a support group. But remember we are people dealing with the same feelings... constant bombardment with bad thoughts only lead to one thing. Either comsumption or explostion. Even if only little... like lighting a fart.. (LOL) But that fart causes verbal expression of what is fueling that fire. AND... we have the right. Because this is a support group. Alot of things have different sides and dualities and maybe even barriers leading to misinterpretation by perception. I just honestly think.. that ANYONE, can write ANYTHING because we are all entitled to. Just because its not suicidal, depressing, sad, relevant or interesting doesnt mean its "not worth our time". Just from time to time, when actually trying to help someone and putting your heartfelt advice out in the open only have them dissapear for days... then come back like nothing happened. These experiences may not affect everyone.

Its obvious that some have this intense desire for attention, that may be due to the mania.I think some people may do it because they need to know that there are people who care, whether the care is real or false they still need to know.
Why someone would do that is beyond me,like many of us on here I have no reason to lie,if there is some information I don't want to share I don't plain and simple.

Another thing I was thinking about was the fact that some may be reaching out in an effort to keep themselves from actually doing it.It may not be the best way of doing it by posing but I am not one to assume what another person is feeling or not.
