I was diagnosed BP in the past few months. I started trying to get help for depression/anxiety through therapy 7yrs ago. I am 49 and all my life I have suffered social anxiety, anxiety, depression, panic, irritability, rage, not sleeping and that's when it is the worst, highs. I have taken anti depressants and they started to make my anxiety 24/7. My doctor sent me for evaluation with a psychiatrist. Suddenly I became so scared. I have tried risperadone - taken off it due to side eff...lamictal and that is when I realized yes I do need this type of medication. I felt level, clear, calm, wanting to do things and then side effects set in and had to be taken off. Now I am set to start Zyprexa. The meds are very scarey to me, but I have to be honest with myself and say I have finally been diagnosed correctly and I surely don't feel well in this state. The past few weeks were good and the past couple of days the funk started. I am learning a lot about myself and triggers, but there are not always triggers. Oh man, I guess I am here because I really could use some peer connection and support.
thanks for having me!!!
