Every day is different. Some days are good days - somedays not so good.
Today I went to work - it wasn't a great day - but I reminded myself that somedays are like that and I kept
at working - and did a thorough decent job.
I left work - and just felt that 'not good day' feeling follow me home - and I just felt so amorphous, sad
and lacking. I tried to lift my spirits by buying myself some treats, but I also kept within the realm of the diet I hope to keep.
I usually buy Diet Pepsi - but decided that might be not so good for my mental and physical health and so I cut that out.
I spent the rest of the day in front of the TV (well went for a short walk too) and in front of the laptop - on FB and DS.
My mind just seems lacking - a sense of order perhaps - a sense of knowing of wisdom -
When it was time to wash up before bed, I felt great that I had that routine.
And I will watch my regular news shows -
take my meds - and then go to bed. Just the structure of that seemed to lift my spirits. I know this may sound weird
but I think structures can be booster to our mental outlook. I have heard people say - routines and rituals are calming.
Well just getting ready for bed made me feel great.
I thought about religion too, and how at moments of feeling unwound - unraveled in the day - I can see how some
can gravitate towards reading the bible. I don't do that - but I have meditated while working or after a long day.
Spirituality - or just some kind of routines remind me of the positive in my life.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Chris is also right, I think - a little spontaneity goes a long way but I still need it within the confines of structure.. you sound really strong, Mark! Glad you were able to make it through your day without incident! ❤️
I think it sounds like you're on a healthy path....xo

I watch certain tv shows - most every day. I have a part time job that has the same schedule everyday - and so I go to get ready for bed - and then go to sleep at the same time every day. It's just me who I have to worry about so it's maybe easy to be so selfish about my routines and rituals. Sometimes things are different - but the usual routine has really given me a framework .. a back ground.. to go from out of control to more mindful about what I am experiencing (and so I process it better.) I will always have difficulties and some woe about that but so far these same highlights to my day give me some relief :)
