Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I've been back on meds for over a year now yet I'm still in crisis most days with depression.I haven't been able to work and have been staying with my parents since the depression started again.
I find it very difficult to get through each day and all my hope of leading a normal life is gone.I'm in no position to meet a woman yet I want to find a companion very much one day.My doctor says that there isn't much more he can do as far as medication goes.I don't know where to turn for support anymore.I've been isolation lately and all I can do is watch movies to try and pass the time.I guess it would be nice to make a lady friend here.I'm just looking for someone who can relate to what I'm going through because I feel like I'm the only one going through this.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I don't know how many meds you've tried but it usually takes a while to get the right combination.
So unless you've been on a dozen or more cocktails it sounds as if your doctor is either lazy or incompetent.
Is this a GP or psychiatrist you are seeing? I don't know the medical system in Canada but I think it's a bit like ours in the UK - maybe others will reply or you could post on the main board where more people will see this. I'll also ask my co CL who is Candadian to comment.
Are you in therapy?.. What meds have you tried thus far?... There are other things that can help such as journaling.. mindfulness... exercise
