Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I've been single for over a decade now (I'm 32). I find it almost impossible to meet people I am interested in. My standards are not high as far as I can tell. I've shown dating site profiles of women I've messaged to friends to make sure and they say my standards are normal. My best guess is that women just aren't all that interested in a guy that lives on disability. I don't mention that I am bipolar. I figure that anyone that is interested in me would ask about why I'm on disability and I would tell them. the thing is, I never get responses. on one dating site alone I messaged more than 50 women and got zero replies. I don't want to lie. I don't want to pretend to be something I'm not. I don't plan to risk my mental health by trying to work so I have money for dating. There are so many women out there who don't want to be alone, who have the same interests and values as me. is that not enough? must I also be the bread winner?
I feel stuck...

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I think that maybe dating sites aren't a particularly good place to look - some will no doubt be scammers and so wouldn't be interested in you as a target and others as you say would probably look for a man who is in work and earning.
Mainstream dating sites aren't really the place for people who aren't mainstream themselves.
So you probably need to look for more specialist dating sites or meet ups.
I know that they have them for things like coffee and conversation, bowling, dancing.... a variety of ways to just meet new people and have a good time
Big hug sweetie... I hear you re the stigma... It can be hard at times....xo
I have also tried online dating with no success. You’re right about not getting any replies back too. It’s just a hard experience.
I just want to say don’t be discouraged. Maybe you’re not meant to find someone yet?
Are there not things in your community you could get involved in to meet people in person. Volunteering, clubs of various interests, Online Meetups, etc.
And honestly when you meet a new person, I'm not sure I'd give them all the information your giving up front. After a few dates, if there's chemistry and it looks like something could be built, then the Disability, etc. As far as why you don't work, you can tell people you've taken a sabbatical, or time off to recharge your batteries...or that you just don't need to work right now. Going out with someone does not give them the right to know every single detail about you immediately....
Before that just a few one night stands. Never any long relationship. I wish I could have one now, but I am far to inhibited and not confident in myself to have one. Also I don't feel I look that attractive anymore. i.e. no one would want me. I do like and admire the pretty women out there lol. I figure not in this life, I will find anyone. I sympathize with you. Also I live at home with the parents, so not the best situation for a practical woman to want to be in a relationship with.
