Good job! That must be a lot of stress of your shoulders- :)
It took me over a year with a lawyer and I had to go to court and I had over 16 years of Pdoc and Tdoc care with 8 hospitalzations and having RSD and a prosthetic elbow joint.
it must have been a lot of work on both of you to do that without a lawyer!!!

That's great! The system now is so demanding I don't think too many people get approved without legal help.

I am very happy for you! It took me over two years, had to get a lawyer, go to court and everything...then we had to contact our state senators to get a descision from the judge...it was an ordeal.

So glad you got to avoid all of that!

That is great. I am still waiting for my first either approval or denial. I recently got a form for a friend or family and myself to fill out. Outside of that I have no idea of what will happen.

I also was approved from start to finish within 2 months without lawyers. When their Pdoc did interview me though I was extremely paranoid, hallucinating, & I hadn't slept for 2 days.. I also had great documentation & doctors willing to work with me & hospitals that had no issue sending records. Two other people I know with BP & Schizoaffective disorder also were approved on the first try each within 6 months & without a lawyer.

It was strange. I got a letter to see the SS pdoc. Then 1 week later I got another letter saying that session was cancelled. I was panicked. Why would they cancel it? I called and SS would provide no answer. Then a few weeks after that came the approval.

I am using a company that does nothing but handle SSD claims. I am up to the point of a doctor's interview from the SSD people. I have bipolar. Wish me luck? Any thing I should know that might help?

I'm in the process as we speak and it's encouraging to hear your stories because I also have gotten help from my pdoc. I talk to the ppl social security a few days ago and they said they would be making a decision soon.
