Okay I need to know if anybody else has ever had this much trouble in getting their back pay from ssa?
My husband won his case back on 2-10-11. We started getting the monthly payment in May. We were told that the back pay was on hold because of pending SSI payments (which we were DENIED for when we first signed up for disability). We finally got that fixed and then they held 15,000 for back child support which was only 1, 801 at that time. THEY claimed that it was already sent but a few weeks ago I was informed they were still holding the payment at the payment center and it had not in fact been sent to the state child support people. So this man who was actually some what intelligent sent a note (since apparently that is the ONLY method of contact) to the payment center to see if they will release the payment or let us know what is going on.
I have NEVER heard of ANYBODY having this much trouble getting their money. I am upset by it but not as much as he is.
Anybody have any other suggestions as to what we can do???

I think it took like 3-4 months to get my backpay. They kept giving me the runaround.

I got miine right away. Didn't have to wait at all, but that was a few yrs ago. Sounds like the child support stiuation may be the problem.

Well after spending over an hour on the phone with them and talking to a supervisor I might have this thing licked. Yes the child support thing is the big hiccop right now and I am freakin exhausted right now from dealing with it all.
