Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Does anyone else views on this topic change all the time.. Somedays I see myself as a good christian and pray and all that then there will be a week I feel like it's just stupid.. it's a wheel of confusion for me.. I will say when I just give up on everything I feel WAY to empty.. I have recently been studying more esoteric religions and find them interesting but can't say I would follow any of them.

Hey all, i know its been quite awhile since i posted on here. Its been a summer all right. Its been something else........... You know how they say not to open the can of worms? Well a few months ago i decided to find out what my due date would have been for my first baby, the one conceived by r***. My baby would have been due on March 4th of 2006. They would be 20 years old. I was R**** on June...

When your bipolar members think you're sounding nuts - probably time to put down that book of Revelations for a second. ;-P lolz
I have had tests of faith especially when grief has hit however I think Faith gets me through when nothing else can
I really don't know what to do.
I guess this doesn't really apply to this topic. I'm sorry. Hope it's okay to air this. Just babbling and verbal vomitting a bit, I guess. Thanks.
I struggle with my spirituality a whole lot. Every. Single. Day.
I like praying and I enjoy going to church. What I dont' like is when the dogmatic stuff comes...Did you know that one preacher told me that a woman isn't supposed to shave her head? So, when my short hair gets scraggly in the back, I can't shave the back fuzzies off? That makes NO SENSE.
So, I have this basic idea of God as an all loving father in the form of the Great White Spirit, the AA Higher Power, the Christian Father or Krishna who is an avatar of Vishnu.
But then, I'm taught that Jesus is the only way so I still pray to Jesus and I would be too scared to go ISKON, so I just sort of stay in this weird little bubble or contiuum (numberline) of my "faith" being in between worshipping a generic, all loving Father and Jesus................
I've struggled and struggled and struggled and this is the best that I can do.
My belief is I Jesus , not dogma or set rules of a particular church.
and yes, I consider myself to be very Spriritual
I've believed in various things over the long course of my life, but my mental illness has played no part in it.
Sometimes I think that God is the Universe and all that is in it.
Well, actually, I even skip the step of defining it as 'God'.
But as one of my favorite, late authors says .........
It is the final proof of God's omnipotence that He need not exist in order to save us.

I love my Lord and Savior Jesus ...it's all the extra dogma and stuff that can get tacked onto Christianity that bothers me
This is A great thread. What is wrong with me?
To quote from Reimaging Church, "Richard Halverson writes, 'When the Greeks got the gospel, they turned it into a philosophy; when the Romans got it, they turned it into a government; when the Europeans got it, they turned it into a culture; and when the Americans got it, they turned it into a business.'" (45).
Forty seven million Americans do not attend religious services. There's a reason why Christians are dropping out and dropping into the home church movement to find other people who want to share with others their expression a growing faith with a loving, approachable God.
