For the past several weeks I've been going in and out of a paranoid and delusional state.On Friday it was the worst.I've felt terrified,and I let myself get drawn into an argument with my oldest sister "S" yesterday (Saturday).Since I'm the only Christian in the family,I feel like I have to take the initiative and apologize after an argument,which I did.This is what I got in return:"You had better get a grip or you'll end up in a mental institution for the rest of your life".
When I was a teenager I lived with my alcoholic father,right around the time I began showing symptoms of bipolar.To keep me in line,from time to time he'd threaten to send me to the state hospital where,he claimed,"you never get out" (I've since discovered this was an ugly lie,as was most of what came from his mouth)."S" sounds exactly like Dad.All afternoon I've been hearing in my mind,over and over, "mental institution for the rest of your life".I begged the sweet caregiver on duty today not to let "S" put me away.(Btw she no longer has my POA,but I keep remembering the time when she did,opening my mail and stuff like that.)
"S" wants me to come to her house tomorrow and do some chores for her.It's strange how I'm sane enough to do that,but not to live in her world and be shown the respect she would give any stranger on the street."S" always pulls what one of my other sisters refers to as "the religious card",something like "I don't think you're a Christian unless you do what I want".It bothers me to admit this but I am choking with anger,rage is more like it,which means I have to apologize again or I'll go to hell.

If someone is mistreating you on a continual basis or degrading you, asking the Lord to forgive you for your anger , is different from letting that person over run you with ridiculous threats
Ask God for forgiveness ..... don't make yourself into a door mat, because of a misunderstanding of what foregivennes is
You are in a difficult situation, try and stay strong, and don't feel like you need to apologize here on DS
