doorknob
the truth is
I want a soul mate not a think just filling a space.
Finding a soul mate is slow and hard work.
That is why I'm still single for four years now. Finding my soul mate is like finding water in the desert. Rare yet necessary.
It is lonely but I'd rather die alone that with out my soul mate.
My ideal man would take far to long to describe but let it be known I am looking for him. I just haven't found him yet.
What about you?
Do you believe you have a soul mate?
Are you looking for him?
Have you found him?
Or have settled for less yet still satisfied.
Even if you are unsatisfied I think that is normal too so no one beat up on the unsatisfied ones.
I see many people staying with the wrong person. In fact they like moths to fire always attract to a bad kind of mate. The abusive asshole kind. And yes women can be abusive assholes too. Actually it seems like the abusive women get the better men. It's rare to see a healthy and balanced relationship. That's why I think so many people don't have one, they don't even know what one is or looks like.
Well there's my piece so share yours.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

i have been single for two years now, which is the longest i've ever been single in my life.
i thought i met mine when i was 24.. then i married someone else.
i am single now for almost 2 years this summer. had some flings since and my choices are horrible. my ex got my youth, now i see the guys i attract and i think wtf..
im on a dating site and i have very little hope for anything serious. never thought of single as terminal before.. this is probably my longest stretch single in my life.. wow hadnt thought of it till now
hope is a good thing tho. wish i had more of it.
I've been on the single bus for about two years myself. Woo-hoo!
I sure like to think like everyone else here.. I believe Im meant to stick with my four legged soul mate and some wonderful friends.. and I know I have a lot to be thankful for..
I hope everyone here who is looking find what they hope for.. you all deserve the best..smile...x
my parents have been married for 55 years, and still so passionetly in love ( if passionate means hugging and kissing in between pulling guns on one other or trying to hit my dad with the car)
i am super attracted to alpha males (basically chuck norris) but i only seem to attract men with no spines.
so i guess ill be single forever, as long as i get laid properly here and there, im A-OK : )
My concept of love is very spiritual and esoteric. It is when physical, emotional, and spiritual attraction come together to form true love. Romantic love can not exist unless all three merge into one. Without all three you are simply two people existing together instead of being one being.
People tell me my love concept is a fairy tale. Maybe. But I would rather live for the fairy tale than exist with someone I did not love.
But basically Romantic Love is an invention of the 20th Century...before that marriages were based upon alliances between powerful families , or who would be a good breeder , or which man could provide the best for his family.
All that said.....like I said before , I truly deeply want to find a Soul Mate for myself
I tend to gravitate towards abusive self-centered men and throw back the ones who treat me with respect. I'm in one of those relationships now.
Am I satisfied??? It depends on what day you ask me. Most days I would say no. He does not provide what I need but he is trying. We have been in couseling for almost a year now with 3 different therapists.
Our current one explained our current relationship the best out of all 3. I'm moving forward personally with my life and for the first time ever trying to take care of me, healing, health, whatever and being more assertive and I'm leaving my husband behind in my dust. The therapist told my husband its up to him to move forward or be left behind.
I guess I'll see where it goes.
Seriously, I agree that soul mate and romantic love have really been created by the media. Sad love songs, movies that end with the happily married couple riding away into the sunset.
It took me a long time to realize that being "in love" had nothing to do with the commitment of "loving". Love is a commitment, and anything else is just hormones.
I've been married 31 years to the same man, but I confess, I thought we were soul mates when we started, and so did he. We went down some really rocky roads, apart and together. I think I am at the acceptance stage of marriage now. I don't have to accept any nonsense, but I accept neither does he.
Still, there is something chemical/emotional in a good relationship. But it really has to be cemented with a intellectual commitment to last. I think marriage these days is hard whether you are normal or bipolar. Just look at the divorce rate. Not all of those people getting divorced are mentally ill. On the other hand, my maternal grandparents stayed married till they died. It was NOT a happy marriage, but people didn't divorce in those days. I think it would have been better if they had of divorced.
I really don't think I could stand alone too long on my own. I like to think I could, but I don't like being lonely, or alone. Just hoping I go first, so I won't be rebounding in my latter years.
They didn't and I've been single for 4 1/2 yrs now. I don't know if there is another "soul mate" out there for me or not. I guess I'll know it if or when I see it.
Even when you find your soulmate, it takes quite a leap of faith and there's no guarantee that it will last forever!!!
I don't mind being alone. But it can't compare to being in love with someone who loves you back, just as much!!!!
Good luck!!! I hope you meet just the right guy!!!!
I don't think I'll be looking to find another. I just don't think any man will ever love me the way I need to be loved... the way I love... deeply and passionately and LOYALLY and FAITHFULLY
I really don't think men have it in them to truly love someone other than themselves. Yes I am bitter.
