I talked to my Doctor recently about the side effects of Abilify. First of all I do have an involuntary movement with my left hand, which others can tell. Second, I forget almost everything, I'm taking 15mg. right now and the Doctor says he can't lower the dosage anymore because it won't do any good. What do you all think?

I haven't taken Abilify; however, I took Seroquel and had the involuntary movement, but I didn't want to give it up. My pdoc told me to take 50-75mg of Benadryl 3 times a day, and it worked, the involuntary movements stopped. Ask your doc about it.

I took abilify and the involuntary movements were too much to handle. Lowering the dose did not help. I was taken off abilify and switched to new meds.

I take Ablilify and get the restlessness feeling a lot. my doctor told me to take benedryl too...it helps

The problem I have is that I take too many meds and I took Benadryl once at night, like the doctor ordered and I felt really bad, because I also take Ambien and Xanax at night and Lamictal, Prozac, Wellbutrin together with Abilify in the morning.

In some people it mimics the early stages of Parkinson's disease and will give extreme hand tremors, it happened to me at higher dosage and I have been taking it for 7 years, you are on a low dosage in my opinion and should tell your pdoc ASAP.

I told my doctor about my involuntary movements with my left hand and he says it's a normal side effect. I don't know what else I can do, it's really embarrassing for me, because other people can tell. I think I'm going to make an appointment to see him as soon as possible, because I'm also having panic attacks while I'm sleeping at night.
