I made a terrible mistake almost a decade ago. I slept with my friends wife. I promised myself I would never do that again. here I am years later and I've done it again with a different woman. she's not married, but she has a boyfriend. they've been together for years.
I don't want to lie to people. I don't want to be this person. I want to be good. I want to be the light in peoples lives.
1. I could let this pain be a reminder to myself.
2. I could rationalize and stop kicking myself.
3. I could accept that this is just who I am and move on.
I feel like I am picking the lesser of three evils. I know that number one would be unhealthy for me. two and three would lead me to doing this again. it seems like someone is gong to pay a price. why should I cause someone else to pay when I am the one without the necessary self control?
I am not religious, so I am not receptive to advice base in spirituality. thank you, however, for any advice you can give.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

if it was the bipolar you need to sort out the meds so that you can remain in control
if you just did it I'm not sure what to suggest. What were you thinking at the time that made you think "this is ok"?
In the meantime, I see some options for you "between the lines," as it were. First, you need to recognize that these two women were open to cheating with you. While you may or may not have been the one to initiate the affair, all it would have taken to stop things in their tracks would have been for these women to turn you down. Yes, you're equally responsible, and you should remember that as a means to avoid doing it again, but you shouldn't beat yourself bloody over it either.
I really do think therapy is the answer - go for long enough to figure out what draws you to what should be out of bounds, address it, and then move on.
Good luck!
The most sincere firm of an apology is to not do the behavior again....
In that way you need to apologize to yourself....
If this is something you struggle with I also agree some therapy can help... Forgive yourself for sure... Big hug....xo
