years ago I was on Geodon. Due to a crack addiction I developed brain damage that cause geodon and most other antipsychotics to give me dystonia. A potentially dangerous kind. It effects my throat and some times I stop breathing. So I stopped taking it.
Well Recently I started taking it again because I can't sleep at night and geodon always helped me sleep before. I was afraid that maybe the dystonia would come back but I was desperate to sleep. Usually the first start up dose just knocks me out not cause dystonia. But I decided to keep taking it to see what would happen.
Well so far no dystonia. I feel great when I wake up. I know it's effecting me in other ways but I'm not sure if it's for the better yet.
Also I'm concerned about weight gain. I've gained weight on geodon before but as long as I'm on ADD meds I'm fine.
Still a concern though
Should I tell my doctor and ask him to prescribe it again?
I know I will run out eventually (soon) but I'm not sure if it's a good thing yet. It is making my attention span seem shorter. The good thing is I have more energy and clean more.
Oh I've also been taking 10mg of saphris along with it. I"m already on so many meds I hate to ask for more. Especially since I feel like meds are a miracle at first but always poop out over time.

You said you started taking Geodon again.
Next sentence you ask if you should tell your Dr and ask him to RX Geoden it again .
Are you taking the current Geodon with out your Dr knowing ?
Are you taking old medications left over from when you took it before ?
I would deff run this by your Dr.
Stating up meds with out your Dr knowing about it , could be dangerous
It's something to think about.
Mixing psychotropic meds can be dangerous, drug interactions and all that.

you are a good person and your life is more important than to ever risk it taking a med that you know may well kill you in your sleep.
there are a tonne of sleepy meds dk. you do not need to be playing this game of russian roulette. work with your doc.
Saphris and Geodon taken together has a Major Warning .
Taken together , the combo can cause major heart irregular beating and other severe problems .
I suggest you call your Pharmacist or Pdoc ASAP.
Stopping the Geodon cold turkey may be just as bad.

he was fine with the geodon. And I'm off the saphris so no worries.
Also mojo thank you for being very concerned but the dystonia did not come back. I would know if it did as I can not sleep when I have it. So don't worry OK. Yes I probably shouldn't have played with fire but I was so desperate.
