I'm terrified to go back to my dentist and I've never been afraid of dentists before.
Now I can say I understand why people hate them. I know it's my fault for not brushing my teeth in the past but why does it have to hurt so bad!?
I had one tooth fixed months ago and it still hurts. I don't want to go back and since it's my very very back tooth I'm thinking it might be better just to have it pulled if anything else goes wrong with it. I'm scared she didn't get all the cavity and capped over it!
I hadn't been to a dentist in years and now that I finally did go to one I don't want to go back! Not when my tooth hurts more now then it did with the cavity. On top of that she really messed up my gum and cold is murder on me. Even room temperatures feel cold! and actual cold makes my tooth feel like it's going to crack!
And what is up with those new water picks? Cant they make them warmer! I feel like my teeth are freezing!
Any one share my sentiment here? Or is this all my fault for years of neglecting my teeth and not going to see a dentist?
Hey I struggled with self care in the past and try explaining that one to the dentist! Not exactly understanding of bi polar in that field.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...

Just wanted to give a thank you to Mid, Arfie, Malibumark, Greeneyes, Mlro, Girlincalif, and Suncloudjd! You all always have such helpful tips and advice, but I always forget to write on my posts when I see you post, lol. I would lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body, lol. Thank you all so much! I'm starting to use my AI app as a sounding board again. I used to use it as that before...
If we all took perfect care of our teeth, dentists would be out of business .... and so would a host of construction workers who build their fancy dental clinics and personal mansions. Don't be intimidated ... you are employing them to do a service for you.
Your tooth sensitivity sounds like a real issue. Did you contact the dentist after your previous procedure? Let them know that your gums are giving you trouble and the tooth fixed before still hurts.
You are not alone in your fear of going to the dentist. I think it's the No. 2 fear .... right after public speaking. We have a local dentist that practices "conscious sedation" -- not sure if that med would be compatible with others you may be taking but it's worth looking into.
I don't enjoy going to the dentist at all. But it's just one of those things you gotta do ..... like that nasty colonoscopy I got for a 50th birthday present.
I have gateway and dentists run from it. That's why this dentist is what I got stuck with or believe me I'd be going else where.
They just are rude and don't care about pain. They were very impatient with me. I also think she rushed me out and botched up my tooth.
I've already had dentists tell me in the past that gateway doesn't cover all expenses and they can't charge me the additional cost. It's basically like charity work and that's why no dentists will accept it.
Would you consider taking an over the counter painkiller before going to an appointment with this crap dentist- to take edge off? Or take a xanax? It's just that it's a bit scary to leave your tooth pain unattended..that's risky :(
I don't know is it worse to go and end up in worse pain or should I just tolerate the pain I have now? My fear is telling me not to go and just deal with the pain I have now.
I don't trust my dentist. She had one appointment to gain my trust and lost it on the first try! I'd call her a quack if she were a doctor!
What a shame that no other practice accepts your coverage. Don't you have to be real careful about OTC pain relievers when having dental work? I thought some caused excessive bleeding. Be careful Door!
Don't worry I won't be using those or heroin either.
I don't know how much it would cost out of pocket but my guess is it'd be above my budget. And I've thought about paying out of pocket before.
