I am a rapid cycler too. Right now I am on Seroquel and Wellbutrin and they work in that my ups and downs are not as severe. The goal is to get me balanced but I take the best for now. Dont get discouraged, please be patient and tell you pdoc everything. Mine works very closely with me and I journal everything. It helps alot when he evaluates the severity or frequency of my cycles. What feedback have the docs given ? You have mentioned this but I dunno about THEIR thoughts.
They must know about their failure to get you the right mix/dosages.
I hope they do.
You've had faith and patience.As long as you know you've waited.Then they have to give you explanations.
Someone must be working on getting you to a more safer haven.Some noble doc I hope.

My pdoc knows that nothing is working...that's why I get med changes so frequently. I hope I get the right mix soon. I'm tired of all of this bullshit.

I tell him when it's bullshit.They ain't so mighty.Just say stop bullshitting and tell me the exact method behind this real madness.

I think I'm at that point where I'd actually say that. Nothing seems to work. I don't know how many more options there are out there.

I am a bit passive, but I've got the rage a little more, and I hopefully keep my cool a little bit by next pdoc appointment.

I sometimes flip up and down for periods as short as 10 or 15 minutes. (But spend most of the time in one mixed state or another.)
I take 100mg 2x/day and 300mg SeroquelXR at night.
I find that while it seems to do little to make me cycle more slowly, it does quite a lot in making the swings go only a little up and a little down, and I'm happy with that!!!
I also like the fact that when I'm in a down mood, I have the knowledge that it probably won't last too long!!

My rapid cycling is very severe. 10-15 minutes is a miracle for me. Give about 5. Then my mood will be different. Although, right now...I'm just cranky, grumpy...and trying crazy hard not to attack my roommate and ripping her head off her body while yelling curses at her. This mood has been nearly all day. Which almost never happens to me. Screaming is something I DON'T do...yell, yes. Scream no...but I soooo want to right now.

See, it's got to be the combo that works for YOU, as an individual - that's why pdocs have so much trouble.

I agree with shelly 100% and could have said the same thing, but I take lithium and abilify, whereas she takes seroquel & welbutrin. Each person has a "right" mix, that just needs to be Found. I believe that, anyway; no one is BeYond help.

Have you tried abilify?

I'm going through the same crap. I am on so many meds I should be in a coma right now yaheard. But it's really a crap shoot what works for me may not work for you. That does not make it any better. I know. I just started a new med today. Topamax. Let's see what this does to me!
