Sensitivity to noise

Just curious, but when you are experiencing irritability from mania, do noises around you irritaye the &$@ out of you? Im having a realllllly bad time with this. :(

Yeah, I think Dee's idea is great!!!! It's certainly worth a shot, anyway!!!

And, yes!! I don't necessarily have to be irritable or manic. But I have moods where noise seems like a physical assault!!! Any kind of noise.

It might be the meds.

I'm on abilify and lamictal and I developed an extreme sensativity to noise. My hears hurt and ring on what people consider normal noise levels.

If it's not the meds you may have a rare sensory disorder.

I'd talk to the doctor about it.

Also with ADHD I find noise very distracting.

I dont know how im going to handle work tomorrow. I sit in a room where there is a copier running nonstop, not to mention coworkers who have NO respect for the fact that they are standing there yapping in MY soace!!!!!! I cant wear earplugs at work, unfortunately :(

I have high sensitivity to noise. unfortunately I live in a house with two very loud people. they both drive me crazy. and to think... i'm the one legally insane. the irony is so funny

I find some noises very aggravating at times. I cannot wear ear plugs at work, where most of the annoying noises bother me. I have found that if I hum or play my radio, it helps me. I also step away from my desk when I can. My neighbor at work drives me up the wall. He eats non stop and it seems everything he eats is crunchy and comes in a crunchy bag he has to crinkle for way too long. He even eats a bowl of cereal every morning.

Especially sudden noises... umm, like something dropping or breaking.

I don't think we have good filters. I've never been able to concentrate with people talking, the t.v. on in the background, office phone ringing, etc.

For the past month I've been having this problem.....and it's just getting worse and worse. The phone ringing, people talking (particularly children), the sound of my Grandmother's slippers against the wood floors......I go into rages sometimes. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to remedy the problem.

    Woke up feeling very emotional and about to clock in at my place of employment. And can't place it all in writing but not been a good experience with my store manager or his boss. Defamation of my character is a concern. I've been losing appetite and weight. Trying to perform at work to keep myself from hospitalization as a result of toxic masculinity.
