Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
But in AA we say, "Self esteem comes from esteemable acts". That mainly refers to "being of service" to othert people - putting your hand out to help someone, but it also means esteemable acts like having a shower every day, doing the clothes washing, the dishes, paperwork, going for a walk, doing somting fun - building up from the smaller things to the bigger things.
It's been really hard for me to do that stuff myself as I have continued relapse into Bipolar related major suicidal depression, which stunts my ability to do the above stuff, especially the community re-engagement stuff, but I am now on Lamictal and I hope it will give me the wellness to do all that stuff.
Weird to say, but you'd lucky if you have some addiction, doing the 12 steps would help you a lot.
I have self-esteem issues myself, and I work on those in therapy. When I'm high, I do not have those issues - at least not to that degree.
