I have been taking seroquel for the last seven years,panorama the tv show has had an hour special on how dangerous the drug is,in dementia,bipolar and other illness,can cut your life down by years,no meds for me tonight,so your in for a long night,anyone else?I really was Miss Seroquel xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I was on it for about 2 months and I had a bad reaction to it so I had to stop taking it. Good luck with new meds. I got real sick when I stoped taking it too I hope you don't

I take seroquel and for me the benefits outweigh the risks and I haven't had any problems so far.

I don't think I would take myself off a drug.Call your Pdoc and let them ween you off.It could be dangerous.Also I would do more investigating before I just gave up on a drug that has worked for that long of a time.That is just one side of the story.Good luck.:)

OMG...DO NOT STOP YOUR MEDS COLD TURKEY!!
That'll kill ya faster than anything.
If you are concerned about the Seraquel..call your Pdoc.

Besides ...most research shows that an unmedicated bipolar person lives a shorter life span,and has dementia anyway...so get your sleep and if your e still scared about the Seraquel..call your Pdoc!

I don't know, I can't take anything else. I mean, seriously, it's the only drug that works for me. Were they trumpeting on and on about liver damage, glaucoma and diabetes? Or is there more stuff my pdoc hasn't told me? (Yikes!!!) I've been on it seven years too, and finally started to lose the weight. (45 lbs so far!!!) I know a lot of the problems are linked to obesity.

I say go for it. I just went through the ringer after cutting my seroquel in half all by myself...blah blah blah, winded up in hospital blah blah blah...almost committed blah blah blah... yeah, don't do it. I'd rather be sane and dead early than like I was last week.

Panorama is overblown.It's a TV show !!

It needs to scare the shit out of people to make sure they get ratings.They may have some valid concerns but it's always embellished with 'showmanship'.

Bipolars with conspiracy theories and paranoia are funny.C'mon..

The BBC etc are also in the process of being sued over all those TV Phone - In Scandals.Ripping off the public.

Don't grant them more trust and integrity than your own psych.Morality on TV ?? Haha

Oh don't say that.... I don't want to die early. But Seroquel has been the drug that has really helped me a lot. I can be obsseive and a lot of the time so I can't sleep. Ever had a song lyric, really just one line, take over your head? Taking it at night has solved a big problem of mine. It makes repetitave thought stop so I can focus on real thoughts. . .
