Other than my family, there are not many people who know about my condition. But my mother-in-law told one of her friends(which means the whole state knows by now). I ran into this person today. She said to me in hushed tones "I think I got biplolar (no i didn't misspell it that's what she said). Mind you she is in her 70's. She proceeds to tell me that she's gonna cut her one son out of her will. I ask her why and she says he never visits and owes her money from a long time ago. So she says I get so mad at him for the way he treats me and then I cry because he won't visit. I could see on her face she was very upset. I didn't know what to say. So I told her she didn't have biplolar because sick people don't know they're sick. She was visibly relieved by this tidbit. So I'm feeling pretty good at that moment. Then she says I don't know why Mabel says your crazy you seem normal to me. UGH!

I used to hate normies with a passion. Ask anyone that's been on here for years, and they'll tell you this is true. Now, I value normies for their entertainment value. Your story was very rich in entertainment value. I can just see the woman's face ... hear the tone in her voice ... heck I can even smell the denture paste on her breath and the Ben-Gay lotion on her elbows. woah ... she just pooped a little. Run away!

That's hilarious! Both my husband and I really do dislike overtly normal people because of the idiotic comments they make about mentally ill people. Only a few people know I'm bipolar but even they will make the dumbest comments. For a long time my MIL would seriously talk to me like I was a moron. It was like she was talking to a two year old. We finally told her that being bipolar did not mean I suddenly became an idiot.

i have never met a normal person. even when my doc speaks i think boy you aint right.got to see him wed great i sometimes think damn you talking shit. been feeling real good last 4weeks now feel like shit vomiting often when i wake and after meals also feel quite week had blood checked last week was told satisfatory. want to go med free so gonna ask if they can wean me off my lithium. i am wondering if it has any thing to do with all the work i have been doing cus when active i sweat so much its never right i am drinking plenty.well guess i have to see what doctor nob rot has to say. sorry to bang on you did make me laugh

So-called "normal" people don't understand. They don't realize we all have a chronic illness that will need treatment for the rest of our lives. And those that know I'm BP and are not psychologically minded, have all the answers. If I was just stronger mentally I could go off my meds. Just pull yourself up by your bootstraps. BS. F 'em. They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground.
