I have been looking into sam-e as a possible pain treatment. I have read some warnings about this supplement and mood. Has anyone used this supplement, or have any info that would be helpful?

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? i started taking this because my mom mentioned that it is helping her. it's for mood support, joint support and liver health. my mom uses it for her fibromyalgia.
it cautions on the box: people with bipolar (manic) depression should not use this or any other product containing SAM-e except under doctor's supervision.
i stopped taking it because i started on seroquel. i'm a little scared about the new medicine. (freaked actually).
I did not take it for pain, i took it for mood. it wasn't advertized for pain 2yrs ago.
But, after i starting taking it, i cut my pain meds in half, because it did help with pain also. I highly reccommend it.
I don't know much about Sam-E, but I do know it may be helpful if your dr. allows it, but it will not work as a replacement for your bp meds. Although if you do get some benefit, it may allow you to lower your med. dose. But be sure to clear it with dr. first.
