Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Thanks tommy, it is traumatic to move, my fiance wants to have the whole house done by this weekend though so we can have a housewarming party....uuuggghhh.....it puts the pressure on me since he's at work all week.
Every morning, I get up and shower first thing. Then, I brush my teeth. Then, I go to work. At work, I work. Then, I go home. I take my dog out. Then I feed the dog. Then, I talk to my husband on the phone. He tells me he's coming home. Then, we talk when he gets home. Then, we cook dinner. I take my vitamins with my dinner. Then, either I read or watch TV with the husband. If he's watching something I don't want to, I read. Then, we go to bed between 8:30 - 9:30 every week night. Then, I wake up at 5:20 every morning and start all over again.
There is some change to this on weekends, but I think that the routine is what keeps me even. Some nights we do go out to dinner or we go bowling or to the driving range. If it's not too hot, we'll go for a walk before dinner with the dog too.
Wake up, make coffee, sit on DS for a couple hours, feed the kids, nothing, nothing, nothing, feed the kids, nothing, nothingl, nothing, make dinner, nothing, nothing, nothing, put the kids to bed, take my meds and go to bed.
I'd like to fill in the "nothings" with something more productive that I can feasibly do.
There isn't much to do around here unless you have money to spend on shopping.
I'm kind of more wondering what I'll have to do when the kids are back in school. They'll be headed back in 2 1/2 weeks.
I wake up and shower if I havent the night before
I make coffee
meditate and pray for about an hour
check DS with breakfast in hand (something light)
Take meds
check my calendar/schedule for the day (that I made the night before)
Some days I work, so I get ready for work and that in itself is a "ritual". I have to repeat things I need to do to get ready, like hair, makeup, lotion, get dressed etc.
Follow list of chores on my list from night before that I want or need to get done. ie. make appts., go to appts.,exercise, make meals, clean a room, clean out car, grocery shop etc.
Dinner
Spend time with hubby when he gets home from work
Night ritual to get ready for bed.
Make list for next day, pray, breathing exercises
I make sure I go to bed, if I can, at the same time every night..........around 10-11.
My schedule today looks something like this:
Shower (it helps wake me up)
coffee
meditate and pray
check DS with breakfast (yogurt and coffee)
meds
check schedule
get ready for my day, hair, makeup etc.
check DS again
take Josh to Dr. appt.
make appt.s for Josh and Johns shots
help J and J get school clothes ready
make list of what else they need for school
eat lunch
Clean up kitchen and office area (doing this while checking DS again)
pay bills
water plants, weeding in garden (outside time)
make dinner
exercise
eat dinner with family
spend time with husband on deck
read or watch tv, like news or series I like
make schedule for next day
bedtime routine
pray, breathing exercises
sleep
I hope this helps, it can be geared toward your needs in any way, the purpose is to help you stay focused and accomplish things that need to be done. xoxo
As for what I do now I set up the coffee on timer at night, I get up, feed the cat, shower if I haven't the night before (except when depressed), get on ds while eating breakfast, take my meds and so far that is it. I also need to fill out my routine. My kids are grown so I don't have small ones I can take to the park. :( I wish they were little again.
