Hey yall. It seems to me that I will be fine one minute and then if I engage in some behaviors that could be considered risque, I will slip into a good mania. My question is: Does the risque behavior lead to the mania or is the mania already present and leads to the risque behavior? What do you guys think?? Hugs to all. ZB

I tend to think that the risque/risky behavior is a symptom of mania and it tends to fuel itself. IMO.

I agree with RKB, the behavior is a symptom of the mania....however, feeding the behavior enhances the psyche to crave more. If you get away with it, the mind thinks it is easier the next time or craves more. It can "enhance" mania but I dont believe it can cause the mania itself to get worse, just the behavior associated with it. That is where behavior modification and saying no works for curbing the intensity of the mania where you can. xo

Totally with RKB - mania comes and seems to stimulate the sex drive.

my person opinion for myself is.. I get mania, and it leads to those behaviors.. terrible ones..

But, I stay on my meds because it is the dark side that I fear so much.

I also believe that the mania comes first but getting control of it and staying out of risque situations is paramount for my wellbeing
I find the dark side is haunting and stays with me long after bad behavior has happened.
But I do like the partys here!
