I had the same reaction with horrible anxiety and restlessness. I went off it and now I'm on Seroquel with better results.

How exacty are you feeling on risperidone ?
I have been taking risperdal for more than a year now, and there is some symptoms I think I can relate to risperidone: no pleasure in anything and difficulty to concentrate.
I would like to quit it, but my Dr. says I am going to switch to manic if I stop.

Call your doc and let them know what's going on.

I had that same reaction with Seroquel.I was on Risperdal for 2yr and it made me so sedated that I could even remeber what I was saying when I tryed to hold a conversation with someone.Every med affects everyone differently are u taking it just for BP?

yup i am just taking it for BP im taking it every night like im supposed to cuz the mrs tells me off if i dont but im going back to the doc on wednesday so hopefully i can come off them then

I was on risperdone i felt so out of it i couldn't remember anything, i was just existing.

talked to my doc today he doesn't believe that it can cause anxiaty the numpty

I take a high dose of it, 4mg at night... its better when in combination with something like cogentin because the cogentin acts like an anti-anxiety med for me. I've been on different anti-psychotics before and this one seems to wear off the initial dope feeling...I can say this, when I took it with depakote it made me more tired than when I stopped taking the Depakote with it. The side-effect of Risperadone can make you feel more anxious... like with me it was my breathing. It made me feel out of control. Ants in my pants, that sort of agitation. Ask the doc about it ...the cogentin made a big difference with me. Oh and just to let you know 4mg is the maximum you should take of this drug. It causes problems taking it in higher doses. Though sometimes when I need extra my doc limits it to 1mg extra at night or PRN, and not everyday. Hope you feel better. JAVE5672

i had the same restless reaction-felt like i could walk out of my skin!Doc took me off after three weeks Thank god.

instead of taking me off it he just increased it lol

I am on it now and I take it in the morning because it does make me hyper. I am okay as long as I have something to do. When I dont I go into a downward spiral.

I take 2 mg at night, I have been fortunate in that I have no side effects what so ever. Maybe if you give it a week or two, the side effects will mellow out? Good luck, it really does wonders for me.
