I've been on resperdol for 6 months now and my period has completely stopped. Has this happened to anyone else and should I bring it up to my pdoc?

Yes, and yes. Abilify did that to me. Make sure you tell the doc.

I bled all the time and lactated on Risperdal. Abilify is my lifeline.

I have been on risperdol for around 3 months with no problems........ I am on 2mg so maybe it depends on the dose???

talking with your doc is a good idea..........

I'm on Risperdal and no longer get a period. Well, maybe once in a great while I will, but it's rare.

As for mentioning it to the doctor, I suppose I should have, but the medication information lists this as one of the side effects, so I haven't worried too much about it.

You probably should. Don't be like me. (haha!)

When i was on risperdol I never got my period either. I was only on 2mg. In order to get my period I was on birth contol. I asked my regular doctor if it mattered and she said it didn't and that it was ok that I didn't have my period.

I am now on geodon and get my period usually. I was also lactating on risperdol.

I feel left out. I can take as much as 6 risperdal and I get my period every 25 days! And I'm 47!

Thanks for the feedback - it's amazing how differently each person is affected. I don't miss having a period one bit, I just want to make sure it's not going to be detrimental to my health.
