I've become a completely different person from who I once was...and from who I want to be. I've been asking the eternal question to each new therapist for years. WHO AM I? Impossible to answer, of course, but then again, who says I can't be whoever the hell I want to be?
I'm not about to say I want to be the Queen of England or anything grandiose. I'm just saying that I can be whoever I want to be. I just have to actually be it.
I know I can't take on the whole world at once, and I can't change overnight, but I guess I'll get to work on being the characteristics I like about people. Someday, I'll be thin, stable, non-smoking, active, sociable, friendly....etc..etc.
Anyone have any success stories of changes that you've made with yourself?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
there are still very many things I want to change and improve
A work in progress, no matter how slow, is still working forward
I do believe, if I try and work and "create" I can LIVE and be the best me : )
I like your thinking!
Thanks SunCloud.
GREAT topic
Taking an active part in that process gives me something to look forward to.
Live out loud, Hanna.
Make your self go out with friends once a week, if you need friends go make some! When its uncomfortable and you don't want to go - remind yourself, you handle the bad shit - NEED to schedule GOOD Shit....
It's hard to change, but my thinking was warped, I accepted bad from others and myself. First thing to work on : ) Then I tried to smile more, you CAN'T be happy all the time, but if you smile more, you might find your enjoying or cheerful - its not faking! Its good manners, and hope - DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT, HARD AND UNCOMFORTABLE and one day," we" have created a much better life, then where we are sitting!
LOL In the begining I'd catch myself doing or thinking something, after I did it......... once I started trying to change, I'd catch myself in the middle : ) I praying and Seeing - something, I do catch before I do, I also see some bad habits and thoughts are gone - after years of baby steps, poof!
Sorry, love seeing hope - if we don't try strive for greatness, we won't enjoy very good : )
She says I dont know how to take care of me, so shes throwing me under the bus!!!
