I find myself going places in the car and not wanting to get out of the car. I come back home and I don't want to get out of the car. I think it's the only time I spend reflecting. Chronic tiredness from Long Covid plus the immunosupressing meds for my Crohn's is slowing me down but everything just seems a massive effort. I am dealing with the paperwork following my father's death but it's not...

Wow, it's the middle of the week already!Today is our 11 year anniversary, so we're going out to a nice dinner. I'm losing a lot of sleep these days, hence a wonky schedule and uncomfortable feelings. But I know it will pass, eventually.I hope all of you have a peaceful day, and may good things come your way!

I have two sons who are recovering opiate addicts because they thought they knew the risks. I have another son in jail right now because he thought he knew the risks with alcohol until he couldn't stop drinking anymore and hurt two people.
They all told me they knew the risks but thought those risks were not about them. They had lots of excuses, limits, justifications but they only existed in their own "false ego". There is no way to know how much we will become dependent on something and none of us "choose" to be addicts. Just be careful Mush. I know this thread was not meant for a lecture but this kind of thing, talked of as if it is no big deal, always breaks my heart. I know how it can destroy lives and the hope that it steals.
thanks for writting that its heartfelt and i do take it on board.

As said, in the UK there is no emploment drug testing, it would be regarded as a huge infringement of personal liberty.
Also if you look at the quality of business decisions here clearly a lot of executive boards are collectively ripped to the tits.

I think it was off a US or canadian show.
I was lucky in retrospect. After seeing my cousin laying there just dying a slow suicide death from a drug overdose in the hospital. I swore I'd never do anything much after that. Only tried one illegal drug in my lifetime. IMO though this drug should be legalized but that is beside the point of the question. Her death had a lasting impact on me. She was always hell bent on suicide (tried it a number of times) and finally when she did succeed it took her a long time to die just laying there in the hospital that is why I say suicide on the layaway plan.
