One post is kind-of a trigger for me. I feel bad for all of you for what you went through.
But people talking about killing themselves really sets me off because I've had to deal with my mom and sister trying to kill themselves countless times. I had to call 911 on my best friend who ODed and didn't hear from her for over a month and I thought she was dead.
All of my friends seem to come to me when they are suicidal in the middle of the night or during the day. I always feel like they are putting their lives in my hands.
My mom ODed on x-mas eve when I was in elementary school.
My sister also tried so many times I can't count.
So the post about suicide attempts is really upsetting me. I just wanted to share my feelings.

Here is my new brother, copper :) He's so tiny! Moo and Tuck were ok with him on first meeting. Rocket due to his severe aggression will never meet Cooper.

I suppose that at one level it can be therapeutic for some, but not all, that's for sure.
Interesting to me that you just posted this.
I was wondering what possible benefit that topic could have..
So..I asked the poster why the post?
I was concerned that it's on their mind...
....and worried that it might bring some stuff up for some folks.
If you find the topics disturbing...you don't have to read them, hun.
And you surely don't have to reply to something upsetting to you.
Clearly...someone felt a need for that topic.
Do something tto distract yourself from it now...
Hugs...jc
I think someone on the verge of suicide is probably not thinking about triggers, or anything except their own pain. So perhaps saving someone's life should take priority over a trigger. My thought is don't read these posts. For me, I am glad if I can encourage someone to make it through another day.
I wish I had DS back in the days when I was so suicidal. Perhaps I would have gotten out of that 10 year depression much faster.
I am so grateful for your wise words, and sharing how you feel! I am sorry for your loss, and can truly understand the Triggers -
I so agree with Angela, I have received and given support on here during triggering times - I do not want to imagine, not having it!!
(((((BIG HUG)))) my heart hurts from your stress and depression - dealing with others issues on top!!!! You rock woman : )
I know many here do use the crisis center... and adding 'trigger' to a post can help..
Try to avoid then when you can.. or leave the topic...
I'm so sorry to see what you've been through.. I also have known people that have succeeded in committing suicide and it's devastating..
Big hug for you.xo
I'm not telling anyone not to express themselves or get the support they need, because I am looking for support right now, with this thread.
I just had to cut someone out of my life who is an alcoholic that gets drunk every night and day. Any time he has a problem, he gets smashed and calls me saying he wants to kill himself. I have to stay up with him all night sometimes. Or he will call me at like 3am when I have things to do the next day. I told him I couldn't handle his drama anymore, and I feel awful for it.
And I think what you did is right. Boundaries are very important. This person was not understanding your needs. And you count, too! Hugs and hope you feel better soon.
Good for you to cut those out of your life that trigger you, it is going to help you so much in the long run.
Sometimes the crisis board is very slow, because we don't always go there, and that is the best place for those that are crying out for help, but they don't.
So, if you think a post could very well be one of those upsetting topics, just don't let your curiosity get the best of you.... DONT OPEN IT.
You don't have to help everyone.... I also don't respond to highly emotionally draining posts, not that I don't care, it's just I need to think about MY WELL BEING FIRST!
Hope my response helps.
