Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.
Do your parents advocate for you?
you are too young with this to be without a support system in place. You must reach out and not be alone in this pain. It is your and your Doctors responsibility to get you on meds that level you out mostly. A lot is up to you. do you sleep well? go to bed early? eat well? Stay away form caffeine drinks? Do you act out sexually in unhealthy ways?
you have reached out here, which is a start. You have far more power to help yourself than you realize. Please do not go it alone...Good luck.
Be assured,the darkness lifts.
Stay on your meds(talk to your Dr..maybe a meds change is in order)Things do level out,and someday a light will appear, and you will understand how it all comes down to loving others and shareing your love w others.
Take care
I know how much your lifestyle can effect this illness, I've read book after book about Bipolar so I could understand it and try to gain some control but I still fail.
Yes I go to bed early when I'm bad but most of the time I can't sleep. I've been put back on the Mirtazapine which helps now though so I'm taking that at 8 now to fall asleep at 9. I don't drink caffeine drinks because I'm careful with my diet. I'm not in any kind of relationship, nor do I go out partying all night.
My therapist has said all I can do is wait for the meds to do their work but I'm climbing the walls!
