Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Hello~ :3 My name is Christine and Im brand-spanking-new here. I was advised to introduce myself on the main board.
Im reeeeeallllly bad at describing myself though, thats the problem. Im a wordsmith and I express myself, not just primarily but damn near exclusively through lingual artistry as I affectionately refer to it, eloquence and articulation, humour, and philosophical musings. Humour is my saving grace and verbosity is my vice. All my philosophies were conceived in own mind, or were acquired in their infancy [well comparatively speaking] through debate and expanded upon by myself. I owe this quote to Chuck Palahniuk, Nothing of me is original, I am the combined effort of anyone Ive ever known. Im not a serial quoter like I find a lot of like-minded people to be but sometimes I just cannot articulate things as concisely, and with as much impact as other people can and thats when I use quotes.
Im flippant, basically, er, I joke about serious stuff [not always, I use my judgement] because I believe humour to be a medium through which one might express ideas on the darker side of the continuum, in a lighter manner because humour does something interesting, it strips a thick, syrupey almost, heavy idea or thought of such thickness.
Its not for /everyone/? However it helps me a lot.
Now onto the facts. I have Bipolar Disorder 2, severe Generalised Anxiety Disorder, social anxiety, minour [used to be way worse] Agoraphobia, minour OCD, and ADD. Also a former chemical dependancy issue and chronic pain. This is where my humour comes into play, because if I keep up some degree of a faade of being less than in excruciating pain then its easy for the mind to convince itself of such. For me its not as much not being genuine, its expressing a different facet of myself.
Im on Abilify, Seroquel, Buspar and Suboxone Therapy. Although I strongly advocate the use of non-pharmaceuticals to ail a plethora of physical, mental and emotional problems. Such as Sacred Blue Lotus, Kratom, Bali Kratom, Marijuana [which is not for everybody, Ive seen it save lives and Ive seen it ruin lives], and Binaural Brainwaves, which is an audio of overlapping frequencies, such as but not limited to Beta, Theta, and/or Gamma waves, of which simulates the brain into a different mindset, producing effects such as euphoria, analgesia [pain relief], and relief from anxiety, depression, etc. Etc. Its helped me tremendously thus far.
If youve never heard of any of those Id STRONGLY recommend looking them up. If I could afford it, Id probably ditch my meds and at least try natures pharmacy. It comes with a high price tag, however there are free [and costly] versions of binaural beats and can be found with a quick google search, or on youtube. Use your own discretion, and be careful though, /:
My daily agenda mostly consists of watching the History or Science channel, searching for more music [my music tastes are too quantitative to list but you may ask], and being on the internet. Im currently job hunting and I attend college, c: One of my faaaaaavourite things is dressing up to look like a human porcelain doll.
My true loves are: The light side of fashion, the dark side of fashion, philosophy, psychology, sociology, pharmacology, herbology and botany, astronomy althouuuugh every astronomer Ive ever heard lecture has talked WAAAY over my head, which always impresses me big-time. Ever heard the phrase Married to my job? Im married to my hobbies.
When I have high periods I emerse myself in study and socialisation, and when I have low period I emerse myself in study and neglect my social life, which seems to be pretty well-documented as not uncommon. My swings are pretty damn bad most of the time. /: I have permanent self injury scars, from Manic mostly.
However I've come a LOOOOOOONG way and I'm actually tapering off Suboxone Therapy and am nearly considered a 100% recovered opiate addict, and I was discharged from counseling recently, but I'll make a seperate post about that in a bit, I added it in here initially but it seemed choppy and out of place, like, randomly sentimental and excessively ramble-y.
Plus I'm already uncomfortable with and nervous about the length of this and its composition, I wanted to avoid being too by-the-book, and I'm not entirely certain the standard length of these posts.
The only legitimate way of getting people more familiar with me is to talk to them on a more regular basis, as conversation is my weapon of choice. So if youre a curious one by nature youll just have to find out for yourself~
I ramble and as Ive said, verbosity is my vice. The best things in life are intricate on so many levels and multifaceted. If you talk to me youre going to get lengthy answers at least 75% of the time, youve been warned. [Not to THIS^ calibur though dont worry]
Nice to meet you all, my pleasure, really.
I have high hopes about this place and having a niche here.
