Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

Per suggestion of a CL I am reposting so people who are interested can read with out going through pages of negativity, also hopefully the link will work this time. If not you can check us out by going to Groups and looking for "Beyond Medication". Also posted in Treatments
I have opened a new group that I would like to offer to anyone who is looking to learn life copy skills.
The name of this new group is "Beyond Medication" here is the link:
http://www.dailystrength.org/groups/beyond-medication
The focus of this group will be using alternative methods in dealing with the everyday struggles that BP can present us with.
We will be discussing things like DBT, mindfulness, meditation and other techniques of getting through our days without having to reach for another pill or having to call our pdocs. I realize that sometimes these things are necessary but won't it be nice to not have to rely on them as much?
I look forward to sharing my experience with others and learning what coping skills others have learned though out their lives.
I am also looking for 2 or 3 individuals who have experience in DBT, Mindfulness training, Yoga, Meditation and Guided Imagery, who would be interested in working with me and becoming Administrators of this group.
Together we can make this work and become a powerful tool in helping each other overcome this illness.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I'm laughing because "who have experience in DBT, Mindfulness training, Yoga, Meditation and Guided Imagery" I have NO experience in these area's - but I do have a quote, slogan or funny story for acceptance and chage!

@Java,
Of course you are welcome, one of the things I tried to do in my description of the new group was to explain that this is not suppose to replace anyone's current therapy but to work in conjunction with it and hopefully enhance it. The only requirements for the group is an open mind and a willingness to learn and Share.
@ Shelly4, and Gina,
Thank you for your support and you would make a welcome addition to the group.
sounds fun
