Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

I was prompted to post this in reply to the lurkers post.
I was dx's with PP1 in 2000. I have been stable since then, once we found the right med mix - that took about 6-8 months. I am just one of the lucky ones. My stability also coincides with my sobriety. Funny how that works, huh?
I come here sometimes just to see how others are doing. It seems to me like their is alot of drama here - and I know that is the way it will be because BP, esp mania, just breeds drama. However, I feel like I don't belong here because I am fairly stable. I want to offer support, but don't want to come off as gloating or "better than thou".
I just want to know if I am welcome or not.
Thanks, Scarlet

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

I don't take issue with you being stable at all...in fact..YEAH for you !
Yes, sometimes we have "drama", it's a bipolar site...but there is also lots of support and love for each other.
Maybe your stableness will add to the group
If you see Topics that seem unstable or too dramatic for you...don't read them, or reply if you think you might be able to add something positive
Anyway..welcome
:)
I agree with DD 100% on this one : )
Welcome
There is absolutely a place for stable BPers here. Just think, if everyone left once they got to feeling better who would be there to offer support? This site is many things but I don't think "competitive" is one of them. I don't see folks competing to have the worst experience or folks lording stuff over on others. To me, it seems like we mostly hold hands and share. (Oh ..... and fight over who gets to dance with RichardModerate.) :)
You're always welcome here. Pull up a stool. Or .... there's one over there by CammieCat that looks empty. :)
Puddem on a pedestal I do... * squeezes cloth cap *
I've learnt in my time that stable isn't something to ever take for granted.
I think it's not the stability, but the sobriety that's gonna work against you here. We take a dim view of that stuff. OK..now..me. OK..not me..but..I had nowhere to go with that punchline.
Anywaaay..I'm fairly stable..and no one seems to hold it against me..though, I don't post much..unstable people scare me.
Sorry..in a bit of a ridiculous mood..
If you're condescending or " better than you(us).. we'll likely put it down to dellussions of grandeur anyway.
So..welcome..:-)
Hugs..jc
apart from johnny cash, I mean..
someone more....son-of-goddy...
Sorry, Scarlet Angel for interrupting your thread.
Sometimes you're right there can be some drama.. it doesn't usually last too long though.. We have laughs .. give support and there are wonderful people here that offer their friendship generously...x
